I want to use the Color Laser printer....
Basic instructions for setting up an account to print to the new Konica-Minolta color laser printer in MacLab 1.
In order to print to the Konica Minolta Color Laser printer, you must purchase a print card from the Business Office. This printer is available to all registered students at MCA for a charge of $0.25 per 8.5" print. Cards are available in $10.00 and $20.00 denominations and are only used once to actually add the dollar amount purchased to your account. Purchases DO NOT roll over from semester to semester and are not valid after the date listed on the bottom right of the card.
Once you've purchased a card, you'll need to go to one of the lab computers and log in to the print system by going to http://www.mcalabs.net:9191 Once you've entered that address, you will see the PaperCut system login page:
As shown in the image above, you MUST use your MCA Labs username and password (not your student e-mail username/password).
After entering your username, password and hitting the Login button, you will see your "Account Summary" page.
Click on the "Redeem Card" link in the left hand menu (where the hand is in the image above) and you will now see a field in which to enter the number printed on the card itself (dashes and capitalization count).
After entering the number and pressing the "Redeem Card" button, you should be returned to your Summary/Activity page which will now show a balance in the Activity/Balance History graph.
At this point, you are ready to print to the Konica-Minolta Color Laser Printer. To do this, you will select the printer named
"fiery-KM360 @ printserver" from the printer selection menu in the Print dialog box.
A few notes:
YOU MUST BE LOGGED IN AS YOURSELF TO PRINT TO THE COLOR-LASER PRINTER. IF LOGGED IN AS "STUDENT", YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SELECT THE PRINTER, BUT NO PRINT WILL COME OUT. IF YOU'VE PRINTED AND ARE LOGGED IN AS STUDENT, LOG OUT, LOGIN AS YOURSELF AND TRY AGAIN.
Paper sizes available/prices:
ONLY THE PAPER SIZES LISTED BELOW WILL WORK. IF YOU PRINT AND NOTHING HAPPENS AT THE PRINTER, BUT YOU SEE NO ERRORS ON YOUR COMPUTER, CHECK THE PAPER SIZE YOU HAVE DEFINED IN PAGE SETUP. IF IT'S NOT SET TO ONE OF THE BELOW SIZES, YOUR DOCUMENT WILL NOT PRINT.

** 12 x 18 paper is available from Ian during regular school hours and must be placed in the By-Pass tray in order to print.
Printing double-sided documents:
Double-sided printing is selected in the "Layout/Finish" section of the print driver options. Choose either "Left Bind", "Right Bind" or "Top Bind" depending on how you want the binding to match.
If you have any "misprints" or errors when printing, save them and come see Ian during regular working hours (from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm) to discuss credits/refunds. They must be "genuine" misprints though, not just "I selected the wrong options" to get refunds.
